Hookin2Hockey (Hin2H)

The Hookin2Hockey program is for the young children (Girls and Boys) up to 10 years of age wishing to start playing hockey. It teaches them the grass roots and fundamentals of how to play hockey. This Hockey Program runs on a Saturday morning at the start of the hockey season and runs through to the end of August.  

The program involves approx. 6 weeks of introduction to skills and then will move into modified games according to their age - eg. U5s, U7s and U9s.  It goes for approx. 1 hour each Saturday morning beginning at 8.45 am - 10 am at the Ipswich Hockey Complex, Briggs Road, Raceview (entrance via Huxham Street). You can register for this program with Thistles Ladies Hockey Club.

The 2024 season starts on Saturday 8 March 2024.

Please note that All Under 5's should be on the Hybrid Field (T2) each week.  Under 7's and 9's will alternate games between the Waterbase (T1) and the Grass Fields.

Uniform

Playing shirt - (provided by the club) - Compulsory uniform.

Club Skirt and purple shorts - Compulsory Uniform - (BYO shorts or Thistles supply club skirts and can be purchased for $45) 

Socks - $15 -Compulsory uniform - purchased from the club.

Club Visors - $15.00 - Non compulsory but great for Sun Safety

Thistles provides all new registrations with a hockey starter kit - including stick, stick bag, shin pads and ball.

All players must register with Hockey Qld to participate in this program.  This payment is for Hockey Qld ONLY!

Hookin2Hockey - 12 years  $39.81 - (paid direct to HQ online via the club portal) - For non competitive junior player - no participation in club fixtures

PLUS – Thistles Hockey Club Registration fee (separate payment to the Hockey Qld online payment)

Thistles:  Cost: $ 50
